Task 1. Imagine that you are preparing a project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.

Genre is a type of art, literature, or music characterized by a specific form, content, and style. There are five types of genres in literature, which include poetry, drama, prose, fiction and non-fiction.

Different genres have different aims and roles. For example, fiction prose is written in an ordinary, non-metrical language with the help of imagination. Drama combines elements of prose and poetry in plays. Both these genres help readers and writers learn and improve their communication skills. Poetry, on the other hand, uses metrical language with lots of rhythm and rhythm to create word pictures. Non-fictional texts and essays communicate facts and opinions about reality. All ancient literary texts are written in a particular genre. But this doesn’t mean that one genre can’t interact with another, which they often do.
