The life cycle of frogs is a fascinating process that includes four main stages: egg, tadpole, froglet, and adult frog. It all starts when a female frog lays her eggs in water, often in large clusters. These eggs hatch into tadpoles, which are small, aquatic creatures with tails but no legs. Tadpoles spend their early days swimming and eating plants in the water. As they grow, they begin to develop legs, and their tails gradually shorten. This stage is known as a froglet. Eventually, the froglet transforms into an adult frog, which can live both in water and on land. Frogs play a crucial role in the ecosystem by helping control insect populations and serving as indicators of environmental health, making them vital to maintaining ecological balance.
